Baseball Recap: Prescott Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Prescott won against Mohave last Saturday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Prescott didn't even let the Agua Fria Owls on the board, marking Prescott's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Badgers, who have now won four games by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Parker Reed looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Nick Martin and Cooper Magnett did most of the damage at the plate: Martin scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Magnett went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Magnett a new career-high. Ashton Whitwell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Prescott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Prescott is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Agua Fria is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Prescott will host Coconino at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Coconino has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Agua Fria, they will head out on the road to square off against Cactus at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cactus has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Agua Fria will no doubt try to take advantage of.
