Baseball Recap: Ridgeview Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Ridgeview ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the El Paso-Gridley Titans 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cole Kennedy made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ridgeview is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise. Kennedy was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Mason, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Ben Crowley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Ridgeview's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-7. As for El Paso-Gridley, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.
