Basketball Recap: Limestone Victorious

Limestone came into Friday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged the Jacksonville Crimsons out 55-53.

Jacksonville lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Troy Defrates, who went 5 of 8 en route to 10 points. The dominant performance gave Defrates a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was LaMarion Williams, who posted 11 points.

Limestone's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Jacksonville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Limestone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-47 victory against Taylorville on the 27th. As for Jacksonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 65-60 defeat against Sterling on the 27th.
