Recap: Round Valley Elks vs. Valley Pirates
The Round Valley Elks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Round Valley in their matchups with Valley: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Round Valley still got an impressive performance from Brenli Haws, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Haws scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Harli Haws, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Round Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Round Valley will head out on the road to face off against Snowflake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Snowflake is ranked 52nd, while Round Valley is ranked 77th). As for Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rock Point at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Rock Point's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
