Soccer Game Preview: Cleveland vs. Willis

Cleveland hasn't had much luck against Willis recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cleveland Indians will square off against the Willis Wildkats at 7:15 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cleveland is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Grand Oaks, falling 8-0. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Indians it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Willis' offense. They fell just short of The Woodlands by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wildkats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Highlanders are ranked 31st).

Willis has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Cleveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Cleveland might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Willis in their previous matchup back in January. Can Cleveland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
