Basketball Game Preview: Southaven Chargers vs. Oxford Chargers

The Southaven Chargers will venture away from home to challenge the Oxford Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Southaven lost to Horn Lake at home by a 65-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Eagles are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Oxford ended up a good deal behind Lewisburg on Friday and lost 65-51. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southaven's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Oxford, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Southaven came up short against Oxford when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 61-52. Can Southaven avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
