Baseball Game Preview: Doherty Memorial Highlanders vs. South Colonels

Doherty Memorial is a perfect 10-0 against South since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Highlanders will welcome the Colonels at 3:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

South will be up against a hot Doherty Memorial team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Highlanders blew past Burncoat 11-1 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, South got themselves on the board against St. Bernard's Central Catholic on Wednesday, but St. Bernard's Central Catholic never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Bernardians. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Bernardians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Doherty Memorial's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Doherty Memorial beat South 9-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Colonels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
