Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Cardinals vs. Jefferson Democrats

The Lincoln Cardinals will venture away from home to challenge the Jefferson Democrats at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Last Saturday, Lincoln came up short against Ida B. Wells and fell 72-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Cardinals still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 54-48 to Benson Tech. The Democrats have struggled against the Astros recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Lincoln, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-17.

Things could have been worse for Lincoln, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-58 loss to Jefferson in their previous matchup back in January. Can Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
