Softball Recap: Thornwell Comes Up Short

Thornwell lost against Ware Shoals back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saints took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thornwell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skyla Bates, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Adrienne Anderson was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Thornwell's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ware Shoals, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Thornwell will challenge rival Dixie at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ware Shoals is set to face off against their familiar foe McCormick at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
