Baseball Recap: Whitehall Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Whitehall took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Emmaus, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Zephyrs won by a run and slipped past the Hornets 6-5. This was payback for the Zephyrs, who suffered a 12-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tyler Sanders was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Donato Brigidi also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Whitehall is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Emmaus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Whitehall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-1 win against East Stroudsburg North on the 22nd. As for Emmaus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-8 defeat against Allentown Central Catholic on the 23rd.
