Basketball Recap: Joaquin Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Carter Graves and Conner Rios

Joaquin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 58-47 to the Waskom Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 74-53 back in December of 2024.

Joaquin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Conner Rios, who posted 16 points, and Carter Graves, who put up 13 points.

Joaquin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Waskom, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.

Joaquin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Beckville at 8:00 p.m. Beckville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Joaquin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waskom, they will head out to challenge Timpson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Timpson's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Waskom has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
