Soccer Recap: Sandburg's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sandburg had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They never let the Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South Meteors get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Given Sandburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South are ranked 224th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sandburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10-1.

As of now, neither Sandburg nor the Meteors have any future games scheduled.
