Basketball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

Lexington lost against Eureka back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lexington Minutemen came up short against the Eureka Hornets, falling 59-38. While losing is never fun, the Minutemen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Hornets are ranked 143rd).

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Eureka, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Lexington will face off against Fieldcrest at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. Lexington is facing Fieldcrest at the right time seeing as Fieldcrest is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Eureka, they will challenge Heyworth at 7:00 p.m. on January 27th. The timing isn't great for Heyworth: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Eureka has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
