Mira Costa never let their opponents score on Friday. They strolled past the Lawndale Cardinals with points to spare, taking the game 14-0. The 14-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mira Costa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ McBean, who rushed for 64 yards and one touchdown. The Mustangs also got help from Luke Meeker, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

The win made it two in a row for Mira Costa and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 23 points in those games. As for Lawndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
