Volleyball Recap: Ella Kikkert's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wayland Academy over Madison Country Day

Wayland Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Country Day. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Big Red of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Wayland Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Kikkert, who had four digs and two aces. Kikkert has been hot, having also posted 12 or more assists the last seven times she's played.

Wayland Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Madison Country Day, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-7.
