Owen County came out on top against Trimble County on Tuesday thanks in part to Michael Smith's efforts. Smith struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Smith's strong effort led Owen County over Trimble County and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels are 9-1 against the Raiders going back to April of 2017, a lead they'll look to extend.
