Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Mingus' Winning Streak

If Mingus was feeling good fresh off their 63-35 takedown of Lee Williams last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mingus Marauders fell to the Prescott Badgers 47-41. The Marauders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Badgers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Mingus still got an impressive performance from Savannah Tobias, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Tobias has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 46 times she's played. Brianka Villalobos was another key player, putting up eight points.

Leading Prescott to victory were Bella Abt and Addie Prisciandaro. Abt dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards, while Prisciandaro posted 14 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Rayne Libis, who put up four points.

The loss snapped Mingus' winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-4 record. As for Prescott, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Mingus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-29 win against Coconino on the 23rd. Prescott has also already played their next game, a 66-14 victory against Mohave on the 24th.
