Volleyball Recap: Wayne Christian Takes a Loss

Wayne Christian lost against Coastal Christian back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centurions. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wayne Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Wayne Christian lost, don't look at Hannah Brock. Despite the final result, she had 40 assists and 13 digs. Brock is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Leading Coastal Christian to victory were Eliza Greene and Pasey Hodges. Greene had 12 digs and two aces, while Hodges had 11 digs. That's the most aces Greene has posted since back in August.

Wayne Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Coastal Christian, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Coming up, Wayne Christian will challenge Freedom Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coastal Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against John Paul II Catholic on the 18th.
