Basketball Game Preview: Archer City Wildcats vs. Windthorst Trojans

Archer City is 2-8 against Windthorst since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Archer City Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Windthorst Trojans at 6:15 p.m. Windthorst took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Archer City, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Archer City beat Olney 35-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Addy Peters was Archer City's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Serenity Jones held things down on the boards with five rebounds. Alyssa Schroeder took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Meanwhile, Windthorst was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 64-32 loss at the hands of Seymour. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Archer City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Windthorst, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Archer City took a serious blow against Windthorst in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 60-22. Can Archer City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
