Eaglecrest had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 5-8 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Smoky Hill Buffalo 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Raptors: when they faced off against the Buffalo on Saturday, they had to take a 5-2 loss.

Brian Moreland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Moreland was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Blake Anderson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Landen Holmes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Eaglecrest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
As for Smoky Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered against Eaglecrest since April 11, 2023.
On Smoky Hill's side, they got a good showing from Jackson Sharman, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero earned runs gave Sharman a new career-low.
On the hitting side, Jovani Galvan was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one double.
Looking ahead, Eaglecrest will take on Cherry Creek at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Raptors will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Smoky Hill, they will challenge Cherokee Trail at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.06 runs per game on average), something the Buffalo will no doubt try to take advantage of.
