Baseball Recap: Scott Find Success

After only one run in their last contest, Scott made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bishop Brossart on Saturday. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Mustangs 10-9. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Trey Cook was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blake Groneck, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Scott kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Scott and bumps their season record up to 16-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Bishop Brossart, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13-1.

Looking ahead, Scott will head out on the road to take on Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Brossart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
