Basketball Recap: Memphis East Skates Past Kingsbury with Ease

Memphis East won against White Station last Tuesday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Memphis East Mustangs blew past the Kingsbury Falcons 66-15. That 51 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Among those leading the charge was Ava Cleaves, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and five steals. Amiyah Spencer was another key player, putting up four points and six steals.

Memphis East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Kingsbury still got an impressive performance from Maleah Ward, who posted 14 points. That was a full 93.3% of Kingsbury's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Memphis East's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Kingsbury, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
