Basketball Recap: Westminster Comes Up Short

After flying high against Prairie View last Thursday, Westminster came back down to earth. The Westminster Wolves had to suffer through a 90-19 loss at the hands of the Riverdale Ridge Ravens . The Wolves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-10.

Brihanna Crittendon continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Riverdale Ridge, dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The game was Crittendon's eighth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Shay Vigil, who went 9 for 15 to rack up 23 points and four steals.

Westminster has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Riverdale Ridge, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westminster will welcome Northglenn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Brighton at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Riverdale Ridge's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Brighton has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
