Soccer Game Preview: Braswell vs. Guyer

Braswell is 0-9 against Guyer since February of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Braswell Bengals will venture away from home to take on the Guyer Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Braswell has given up an average of 6.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Braswell is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game on Friday. They came up short against Hebron, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Hawks are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, Guyer had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Farmers a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Wildcats have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Lewisville from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal.

Guyer's win bumped their record up to 13-5-2. As for Braswell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.

Braswell might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Guyer in their previous matchup back in February. Can Braswell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
