Recap: Valentine vs. Cody-Kilgore Cowboys/Cowgirls
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Minden, Valentine were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past Cody-Kilgore, posting a 47-8 win at home. That's another feather in the cap for Valentine, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kinsey Buechle was her usual excellent self, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Sprenger, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Valentine's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Cody-Kilgore, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valentine will take on Hershey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hershey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Friday. As for Cody-Kilgore, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hay Springs. Hay Springs presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cody-Kilgore in Nebraska (Hay Springs is ranked 109th, while Cody-Kilgore is ranked 240th).
