Pinnacle Classical Academy is 8-2 against Lake Lure Classical Academy since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will host the Raptors at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pinnacle Classical Academy has five straight victories, Lake Lure Classical Academy has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Pinnacle Classical Academy came out on top against Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Crusaders. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Evie Hawkins made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Maggie Gomez-Huffman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Riley Lawrence was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lake Lure Classical Academy's offense. They lost 10-0 to Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy on Monday.
Lake Lure Classical Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Levi, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
Lake Lure Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Everything went Pinnacle Classical Academy's way against Lake Lure Classical Academy in their previous matchup last Wednesday, as Pinnacle Classical Academy made off with a 25-0 victory.
