Softball Recap: Port Angeles' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Port Angeles proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 17) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Kingston Buccaneers 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Roughriders sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Port Angeles' victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Kingston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Port Angeles is set to face off against their familiar foe North Mason at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Roughriders 3.4, the Bulldogs 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Kingston will challenge rival Sequim at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
