Softball Recap: North Knox Comes Up Short

North Knox extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 14-4 to the South Knox Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 7-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for South Knox, their record now sits at 2-3. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the game before.

For South Knox's part, Kenna Rehwald spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maycie Linneweber, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Kadie Lafferty also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Coming up, North Knox will host Shoals at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Knox, they will venture away from home to challenge Princeton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
