Softball Recap: Platt Takes a Loss

Platt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They fell 5-0 to the Rocky Hill Terriers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 14-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Platt saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Gostkowski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Gostkowski is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Platt's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Rocky Hill, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Coming up, Platt is taking a road trip to take on Newington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Nor'easters have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Rocky Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berlin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
