Recap: Humboldt Cubs vs. Erie Red Devils

The Humboldt Cubs won the last time they faced the Erie Red Devils, and things went their way on Friday too. Humboldt blew past Erie, posting a 47-18 win on the road. That 29 points margin sets a new team best for Humboldt this season.

Despite the loss, Erie still got an impressive performance from Kinzie Cleaver, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Cleaver also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Erie struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Humboldt's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-1. As for Erie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Humboldt will take on Eureka on Tuesday. Eureka will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Erie will take on Cherryvale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherryvale presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Erie in Kansas (Cherryvale is ranked 105th, while Erie is ranked 303rd).
