St. Joseph Central came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Man Hillbillies. This was a revenge game for the Irish: when they faced off against the Hillbillies on April 1st, they had to take a 6-0 defeat.

Wyatt Pence spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, St. Joseph Central's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cam Kellar, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

St. Joseph Central pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Man, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Coming up, St. Joseph Central will head out to square off against Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Man, they will host Sherman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
