The San Pedro Pirates will take on the Carson Colts at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as San Pedro comes in on three and Carson on five.
San Pedro is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Kennedy.
Caroline Baker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brianna Rodela was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Breya Ventura was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
San Pedro hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Carson got the win against Birmingham on Thursday by a conclusive 16-5. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by six runs or more this season.
Carson also got a great performance from Giselle Pantoja as she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rylee Gardner, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashannalee Titialii, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
San Pedro's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Carson, their win bumped their record up to 21-3-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. San Pedro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .421. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've averaged .422. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
