The North Arlington Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Hoboken Redwings at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hoboken took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Arlington, who comes in off a win.
North Arlington was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Butler on Wednesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Bulldogs. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Chris Troyano was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has become a key player for North Arlington: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 3-7 otherwise. Troyano was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Sam Rosamilia was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because North Arlington is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-7 otherwise. Nico Stanzione was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
North Arlington lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Hoboken was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial.
Hoboken saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was William Herrera, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
North Arlington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hoboken, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Saturday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Arlington has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Hoboken struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Arlington couldn't quite finish off Hoboken in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
