Baseball Game Preview: Lowell Red Devils vs. Andrean Fighting 59ers

Lowell is 0-10 against Andrean since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Red Devils will square off against the Fighting 59ers at 4:45 p.m. Lowell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Lowell turned things around against Portage on Thursday. They never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

Not much got past Zak Scharnke, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Portage off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gavin Gutierrez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Penn typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Andrean proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Kingsmen by a score of 5-1. The Fighting 59ers haven't had any issues with the Kingsmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Andrean's record now sits at 12-1. As for Lowell, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Lowell couldn't quite get it done against Andrean when the teams last played back in May of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
