Softball Game Preview: Hammond Tornadoes vs. Covington Lions

The Hammond Tornadoes will challenge the Covington Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Hammond didn't have quite enough to beat Dunham and fell 10-9. The Tornadoes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Covington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 15-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Covington pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hammond, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.
