Softball Recap: McBain Comes Up Short

McBain lost to Frankfort back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ramblers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2.

Ady Haskin spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, McBain saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Paisleigh Magnan, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Jane Koetje also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

McBain's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Frankfort, their record now sits at 2-0.

Coming up, McBain will head out on the road to challenge Pine River Area at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ramblers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bucks have averaged an impressive 10.9 runs per game this season. As for Frankfort, they will welcome Suttons Bay at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The game will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
