Softball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Carroll's offense. They lost 17-0 to the Houston Academy Raiders on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Carroll has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Houston Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll will venture away from home to square off against New Brockton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Houston Academy, they will head out to face off against Enterprise at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
