Softball Recap: Pine Island Comes Up Short

Pine Island fell victim to Stewartville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 9-0. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Pine Island's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Stewartville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pine Island will take on rival Lake City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Stewartville is set to square off against their familiar foe Kasson-Mantorville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 0.8, the Komets 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
