Soccer Recap: Rio Grande City Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rio Grande City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Martin Tigers 3-2. This was payback for the Rattlers, who suffered an 8-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Rio Grande City's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7-2. As for Martin, they moved to 4-5-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Grande City will venture away from home to square off against Juarez-Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Juarez-Lincoln will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rio Grande City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Martin, they will head out on the road to challenge Nixon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Martin's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
