Baseball Recap: Walnut Ridge Comes Up Short

If Walnut Ridge was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of West Memphis on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2020.

Jace Blake made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Walnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Palestine-Wheatley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Coming up, Walnut Ridge will welcome Manila at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palestine-Wheatley, they will take on Mills University Studies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
