Softball Recap: Segerstrom Has No Trouble Against Garden Grove

Segerstrom never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Garden Grove Argonauts. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 12-4 victory last Wednesday.

Segerstrom got a great performance from Sophia Lambaren as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Lambaren has posted since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaylani Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Jaden Fraser also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Segerstrom was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Segerstrom has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Garden Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

As of now, neither Segerstrom nor the Argonauts have any future games scheduled.
