Recap: Surrattsville Hornets vs. Douglass Eagles
The Surrattsville Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Douglass and snuck past 84-81. The win made it back-to-back wins for Surrattsville.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Solomon Lewis, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was makhye mcknight, who scored 15 points.
Surrattsville is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Douglass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Surrattsville will take on Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Surrattsville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 610 points over their last nine games. As for Douglass, they will head out on the road to challenge Suitland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglass is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 71.5 points per game this season.
