Having just played yesterday, the Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes will get right back to it and host the Ridgeline Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Heritage Academy Gateway made off with a 47-46 win over ASU Prep Poly.
Heritage Academy Gateway got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brock Akin out in front who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Akin hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Talon Lemieux, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ridgeline Academy put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pan-American 71-41 at home. Given Ridgeline Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Pan-American is ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Heritage Academy Gateway's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Ridgeline Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
