Volleyball Game Preview: Mohonasen Warriors vs. Guilderland Flying Dutchmen

Mohonasen is 0-5 against Guilderland since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors will challenge the Flying Dutchmen at 4:00 p.m. Mohonasen will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Mohonasen got the win against Cohoes by a conclusive 3-0.

One reason for the win was Mohonasen's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-15.

Ella Rickard and Abby Quenneville were among the main playmakers for Mohonasen as the former had nine digs and one assist and the latter had six kills, four digs, and three aces. Quenneville is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good servers: Mohonasen was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Guilderland came up short against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake last Thursday and fell 3-1.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23.

Mohonasen's record now sits at 7-2. As for Guilderland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
