Basketball Recap: Fredonia Comes Up Short

Fredonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of the Caney Valley Bullpups. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Bullpups are ranked 127th).

Fredonia's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Caney Valley, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fredonia will face off against Eureka on Monday. As for Caney Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Commerce at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
