Football Game Preview: Mahwah Thunderbirds vs. Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders

The Mahwah Thunderbirds will venture away from home to take on the Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mahwah is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Mahwah is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 27, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Westwood, falling 34-13.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dwight Morrow). They took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 50-8 win over Lincoln.

Mahwah's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dwight Morrow, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Mahwah strolled past Dwight Morrow in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 18-0. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Maroon Raiders' Damani Williams, who rushed for 342 yards and three TDs while picking up 19.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Thunderbirds to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
