Basketball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short

Centerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Sioux Falls Lutheran. The Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sioux Falls Lutheran apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2025.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Sioux Falls Lutheran, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centerville will welcome Tripp-Delmont/Armour at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sioux Falls Lutheran, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Great Plains Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sioux Falls Lutheran's defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 51.1 points per game this season.
