Football Game Preview: Ridgeview Ravens vs. Bend Lava Bears

The Ridgeview Ravens will challenge the Bend Lava Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeview will be strutting in after a win while Bend will be coming in after a defeat.

Ridgeview took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Crook County, posting a 41-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won five contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Gage Hobbs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 177 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 36 yards. Another player making a difference was Finn Chambers, who picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ridgeview's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Danner Frost. Lucas Geaslin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Bend was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by Summit 49-7. The matchup marked the Lava Bears' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ridgeview's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games. As for Bend, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.

Ridgeview skirted past Bend 24-21 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Ravens have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lava Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
