Basketball Game Preview: Belleville West Maroons vs. Belleville East Lancers

Belleville West and Belleville East are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. It'll be Eastside v. Westside when the Belleville West Maroons and the Belleville East Lancers meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Belleville West took a blow against Collinsville, falling 49-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Maroons in their matchups with the Kahoks: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Belleville East had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Tigers out 49-47.

Belleville East has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Belleville West, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Belleville West was taken down by Belleville East 83-28 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Belleville West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
