Football Recap: Stony Point Takes a Loss

Stony Point and Vandegrift pushed the score to 35-28 the last time they played Vandegrift, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Tigers came up short against the Vipers, falling 24-0. The Tigers have struggled against the Vipers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Mason Troyer threw for 84 yards on only six passes. Oliver James was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Marcus Milligan rushed for 48 yards.

The critical scores for Vandegrift came from Justin Moore, Miles Teodecki, and Sam Brown.

Stony Point's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Vandegrift, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coincidentally, Stony Point and Vandegrift will both be playing Vista Ridge the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vipers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
